A portrait miniature of a lady in a white stole

Gouache on ivory. Portrait of a lady with a rose in her hair in a brass frame. Signed and dated to the backing: "J. C. Dillman Engleheart pinxit 1816 18 Newmas Street London". A small retouch to the background. The back of the frame slightly damaged and repaired with glue (but unopened). Ca. 11 x 8.5 cm. Frame: 13 x 10.5 cm.

John Cox Dillman was a nephew and pupil of the miniaturist George Engelheart and exhibited at the Royal Academy in London in 1801 and 1828.
