A museum quality Augsburg Renaissance silver gilt chalice

Vase shaped shaft supported on a round waisted foot. The tall narrow cuppa with a smooth flared rim. Cuppa, base, and cover all decorated with finely chased scrollwork and fruit garlands. The finial formed as a detailed model of a Roman soldier with a shield and lance. H 32 cm, weight 390 g.
