A Gothic one-handled mortar with fleur-de-lys

Golden brown cast bronze with fine natural patina. Slightly tapering form with protruding rounded rim. Three tapering ribs with engraved twist motifs crowned with fleur-de-lys and terminating in pad feet surround the body. Facetted angular handle with pad foot. H 17, D 15.2 cm. Weight 3.7 kg. Including a corresponding pestle.
South Germany (possibly Nuremberg). 15th C.
