An 18k gold kinetic capsule ring

Broad domed ring band set with a capsule bezel filled with gold granules, blue and yellow brilliant-cut diamonds, and white baguette-cut diamonds under a rock crystal plaque. Custom-made piece. Signs of wear, a small chip to the edge of the rock crystal. Bezel 3 x 2.1 cm. Ring size 59. Weight 30.19 g.

These kinds of kinetic "water ring" designs first appear in the oeuvre of Falko Marx in around 1969. The capsule bezel is filled with liquid suspending granules, gemstones, and other ingredients. Later versions dispense with the liquid.
