Half-figure portraits in rectangular frames before sepia ground. The lady in a black shoulderless gown, the gentleman in a dark brown jacket. The lady signed lower left "J. Spelter fec 1846" and inscribed to the reverse "Cornelia Merian=Koechlin nat: 1819." The gentleman signed lower right "J. Spelter fec 1846" and inscribed to the reverse "Edd. Merian=Koechlin nat: 1805." H 12.8 cm. Gilt carved wood frames H ca. 27 cm
