A four-case nrô. 19th century

Displaying on both sides various fishes amidst see weeds in gold and silver takamaki-e and a little black, brown and red lacquer on a kinji and nashiji ground, the eyes of aogai, mother-of-pearl or gold. Nashiji and fundame to the inside. Signed Jôkasai. Minor chip and a shallow dent to the top. A metal ojime in shape of lotus pod with moveable seeds and a crab. A boxwood netsuke of a fugu, signed Shunkô in ukibori. 19th century.
