A side table from the studio of the Gebrüder Spindler

Palisander, kingwood, amaranth, walnut, maple, and stained wood veneers, partially engraved and with black contours, on oak corpus, ormolu and brass mountings. Four slender curved supports of square section with pronounced knees supporting an apron with three slightly convex faces and one slightly concave face, one drawer to the right concealing a metal inset divided into three compartments with embossed decor. Both tops and the apron finely inlaid with flowering tendrils. With well-fitting original bronze mountings consisting of an almost complete moulded border and flowerhead relief appliques to the knees. Some smaller old restorations, the hinges replaced. H 69, W 40.3, D 33 cm.
Potsdam, Johann Friedrich and Heinrich Wilhelm Spindler, circa 1760 - 70.
