A Gothic one-handled mortar

Cast bronze with golden brown patina. Of tapering form with flat, flaring base. With four horizontal bands of moulding and four short vertical ribs. With an angular faceted handle. A casting crack to the rim, the lower section slightly rounded due to use. H 18.6, D 15.7 cm. Weight c. 4.9 kg. Includes a T-shaped iron pestle.
