A magnificent Nymphenburg porcelain platter related to the court service
Scalloped platter with a thick, moulded rim. Finely painted to one side of the well with a bouquet alongside two single flowers, a yellow moth and two beetles. The rim with seven flowers, two moths, and a caterpillar. Rocaille decor picked out in blue and gold, gilt rocaille border. Impressed rhombus mark and MB. With a scratch and localised losses of pigment to the blue flowers. D 31.2 cm.
Around 1760 – 65, décor attributed to Johann Zächenberger.
