An ivory netsuke of a mythological animal on bamboo. Early 20th century

Reminiscent of a tiger, with the curly mane of a shishi head and a long tail curled at the end, the animal strides over a slender bamboo cane. Very finely carved and polished. Beautiful, amber-coloured patina.
