A two-part kaki wood netsuke of Urashima Tarô. Early 19th century

Seated on a turtle, leaning against a tied, lidded box. Dressed in an elegant kimono, he rests his head thoughtfully on his right hand. Finely carved, engraved and polished. The eyes of the turtle inlaid with brass, with pupils of black horn. Signed Minko (at the age of 70 years).
