A marine ivory netsuke of two hares jumping over waves. 18th century

Two hares in spray, one sitting ducked on the crown of the wave, the other hare using the crown of another wave to take a massive jump over. Finely and sensitively carved, the waves softly polished, the eyes of the animals inlaid with red stones.
