A Meissen porcelain cream pot and cover with merchant navy scenes

Of bulbous form, resting on three scroll feet, the moulded spout and handle picked out in gilt. The original lid with a rose finial. The lid and body decorated with finely painted harbour scenes in four scalloped reserves, including one rare depiction of camels being loaded with goods. Blue crossed swords mark. Minor flecks of ash, the glaze of the spout slightly porous due to firing. H with lid 12.5 cm.
1735/40, decor attributed to Christian Friedrich Herold.
