A Meissen porcelain ecuelle and stand with merchant navy scenes

Dish and stand designed for serving soup to a nursing woman. Both pieces decorated with finely painted merchant navy scenes and water landscapes in ten quatrefoil reserves. Blue crossed swords mark, dreher's number 16 (stand) and dreher's mark . . for Johann Martin Kittel jr. (tureen). The handles restored, gilding overworked, minor glaze wear. D stand 23 cm.
Circa 1740.
