A Flemish carved wooden figure of a Saint with a book, second half 15th century

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened. With extensive remains of older polychromy. Figure of a standing saint designed for a frontal viewpoint. He is depicted in a gently swaying pose wearing long robes with detailed drapery, holding an open book in his left hand and with his right hand raised in a gesture of blessing.
The right hand replaced and separately attached. Wear with minor losses, especially to the plinth. Height 53 cm.
