A magnificent Silesian Baroque chest of drawers

Walnut, burr walnut, palisander, mahogany and other veneers on softwood, inlaid with ivory, tortoiseshell, brass, and walnut, lined with wallpaper. Three-drawer chest of serpentine section. With brass mountings at the angles, the drawer fronts each with different veneers inlaid with small ivory motifs in angular surrounds, framed by palisander and brass filets. The top with a brass border and two cartouche motifs framed by strapwork surrounding a central vase. Two later French locks marked "SECURE LEVER". Minor losses to the veneer. H 81, W 141.5, D 63 cm.
Attributed to Breslau / Wroclaw, c. 1730 - 40.
