A small dated Hachmann mortar

Golden brown cast bronze with polished natural patina. The display side decorated with a vacant coat-of-arms supported by winged demi-figures. Inscribed below the rim in Gothic minuscule: “anno domini m ccccc lxi” and “myn hape steit allein in godt”. With two zoomorphic handles. Severely worn, dents around the rim. H 11.2, D 12.3 cm, weight c. 2.4 kg.
