An early Hachmann mortar with an inscription

Golden brown cast bronze with natural patina. The display side decorated with a vacant coat-of-arms supported by winged demi-figures. With two wide banderoles below the rim and above the base inscribed in Gothic minuscule: “int iaer ons heren m vc lxvi” and “myn hape steit allein in godt”. With two zoomorphic handles. Minor dents, some cracks to the outer surface below the coat-of-arms. H 12.5, D 13 cm, weight c. 2.6 kg.
