A Hachmann mortar inscribed “IN DEO SPES MEA”

Golden brown cast bronze with honey coloured natural patina. The display side decorated with a coat-of-arms bearing a “house mark” supported by two winged demi-figures. With two wide banderoles around the base and below the rim inscribed in Gothic minuscule and Latin capital letters: “int iaer ons heren m vc lxxviii” and “IN DEO SPES MEA”. With two zoomorphic handles. Minor dents around the rim, the base slightly rounded due to use. H 13.5, D 14.1 cm, weight c. 3.9 kg. Includes a corresponding iron T-shaped pestle.
