A late Hachmann mortar with dog and rabbit motifs

Cast bronze with chocolate brown patina. The display side decorated with a vacant coat-of-arms supported by winged demi-figures. Below the rim a broad banderole inscribed in Latin capital letters: “INT IAR ONS HEREN 1584”. With two angular faceted handles. Slight verdigris in the indentations. H 11, D 12.8 cm, weight c. 2.7 kg. Includes a corresponding T-shaped pestle. L 20.5 cm.
