A later Hachmann mortar with an inscription

Golden brown cast bronze with natural patina. The display side decorated with a vacant coat-of-arms supported by winged demi-figures. With two wide banderoles below the rim and above the base inscribed in Gothic minuscule and Latin capital letters: “int iaer ons heren m vc lxxxiiii” and “IN DEO SPES MEA”. With two zoomorphic handles. Some abrasion, minor cracks and dents to the inner surface and around the rim. H 13.2, D 13.6 cm, weight c. 3.4 kg. Includes a corresponding T-shaped pestle. L 21.5 cm.
