A Meissen porcelain dessert bowl

Decorated in the centre with an apple, cloves and a ribbon-tied bouquet. Blue crossed swords mark, dreher's number 21. Slight wear to the gilding and glaze. D 20.9 cm.
1746, model by Johann Friedrich Eberlein.

The apple depicted here is identical to the “Borsdorfer Apfel" (plate N 704) illustrated in the "Phytanthoza Iconographia", that was published in four volumes by the owner of the “Elephanten-Apotheke” in Regensburg in 1735.
