"Pot tisane" model with lid and "écuelle avec plateau". Blue stamped Louis Philippe 1824 mark (jug) and 1841 (tureen), iron red stamped mark "CHATEAU DE RANDAN", iron red ss. (jug), gold w and brown R (tureen). The pitcher handle restored. H of jug with lid 25, H of tureen 5.2, D plate 19.9 cm.
1841 - 42, decor attributed to Jacques-Nicolas Sinsson and Pierre Riton, gilding by Jean-Louis Moyez.

"The service for Randan Castle, acquired in 1821 by Louis-Philippe, then Duke of Orléans, and his sister Adélaïde, was commissioned in 1838. It comprised approximately 1,350 pieces, which were delivered in two instalments in April 1842 and May 1844.
The service remained at Randan Castle until the 1920s, after which parts of its were dispersed in estate sales. Since 2000, the French State and the Auvergne Regional Government have recovered some 110 pieces, 65 of which were offered at the auction ""Souvernirs historiques provenant de la sucession de Mr Henri d'Orléans, Comte de Paris"" held in Paris on 30th October 2000."
