A carved wood figure of the Virgin Enthroned, presumably Central Rhine Region, 2nd half 15th century

Carved three quarters in the round, the reverse flattened and only partially worked in the shoulder area. With minimal remains of older polychromy. This depiction of the Virgin Mary enthroned, designed for a frontal viewpoint. The Christ Child is depicted standing on Her right knee holding an apple. The small-format work was designed for private devotion.
Crack in the plinth with smaal losses to the front. Holes on the back. Wear. Height 33 cm.
