A KPM Berlin porcelain vase with a view of the Dorotheenstädtische Kirche

Model 1606, "Blumenvase mit verziertem Henkel" with a Prussian blue ground and matt gold plated handles. Two round reserves depicting a view of the Berlin Parish Church and a portrait of a gentleman decorated with medals. The gold etched attributes of architecture to the neck area suggest that it was produced for an architect. Underglaze blue scepter and pfennig marks, impressed marks 38 VI. A restoration to the foot. H 68.5 cm.
Berlin, KPM, ca. 1865, the model by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, painted by a "Hausmaler", probably one of the painters of the manufactory.

The architects Otto, Habelt and Hoffmann built the new Dorotheenstädtische Kirche between 1861 and 1863 on the ground plan of the previous building from the late 17th century. Badly damaged during World War II, the ruins were demolished in 1965.
