A Meissen porcelain dessert plate with Deianeira and Nessos

Unidentified model decorated with an ivy leaf border and a central foliate oval surround painted with a mythological scene. Blue crossed swords mark with star, underglaze blue I to the basal ring, pressummer 62. Minor localised wear to the gilding. D 24.2 cm.
Around 1775.

The depiction of Nessos and Deianeira illustrates an episode from Ovid's Metamorphoses and follows the engraving "Enlèvement de Déjanire par le centaure Nessus" by Jean-Jacques le Veau after Jean-Michel Moreau.
