A mortar with lotus bud reliefs

Engraved Of tapering form with a protruding rim. Decorated with two rows of eight lotus bud reliefs, tendrils around the upper rim and a braided motif around the base. With a casting flaw on one relief, dents to the lower rim, and cracks. H 11.8, D 14.3 cm, weight c. 3.7 kg.
Khorasan / Iran, 12th - 13th C.
