A rare Hachmann mortar and pestle

Golden brown cast bronze with chocolate brown patina. Decorated on both sides with shields supported by winged demi-figures and putti bearing "house marks". Inscribed below the rim and above the base in Gothic minusculae on wide banderoles: "cuimera ruddenscheitz myn hape steit in godt", and "int jaer ons heren m vc lxxiiii". With two zoomorphic handles. Associated double pestle with nodus, engravings and beautiful identical patina. With minor dents around the rim. H 13.5, D 13.8 cm, weight with pestle c. 3.8 kg.
