A carved wood figure of the Virgin Enthroned, presumably Upper Rhine Region, 1st half 15th century

Carved three-quarters in the round and partially freestanding. Minimal remains of older polychromy. A depiction of the crowned and enthroned Virgin holding a nude figure of Christ on Her lap with Her left hand, handing Him a globe with Her right.
Cracks on the right reaching down to the Virgin's hand, there also a loosely attached wooden wedge. A further crack to the back left of the plinth. Wear throughout. 58 x 29 x 18 cm.
