An unusual Meissen porcelain coffee pot with merchant navy scenes

The original lid with a gilt ball finial. Decorated with finely painted harbour scenes in two large gilt tendril surrounds backed with purple lustre and flanked by Chinoiserie figures on brackets. The lid with a similar scene. Marked 70. in gold (vessel and lid). Two small chips to the tip of the spout, minor wear to the gilding.
The porcelain fired before 1723, decor attributed to Christian Friedrich Herold, 1725 - 30.
