The border with six scallop shell reliefs picked out in gold, the handle formed as a branch with floral appliques. The coat-of-arms of the von Podewils family with the Order of the Black Eagle below the spout. Blue crossed swords mark. The handle restored. H 14, W 23 cm.

The Prussian Minister of State Count Heinrich von Podewils (1696 - 1760), envoy in Dresden in 1742, received an extensive dinner service as a gift from King August III for his diplomatic services during the First Silesian War. The models were reused for the hunting service developed in the same year for Elector Clemens August of Bavaria (1700 - 1761).
