A porcelain snuff box with elegant couples and a depiction of Venus

Box with gilt copper mountings, decorated with courtly couples in the style of Watteau in six rocaille reserves on a blue mosaic pattern ground. The inside of the lid painted with a scene from Ovid, presumably Diana and Callisto. Unmarked. Restored breakages to the left side and lid. H 5.5, W 8.7, D 6.8 cm.
Attributed to Meissen, mid-18th C.
