Watercolour and gouache over pencil drawing on laid paper with watermark "SLG". 61.6 x 47.4 cm. Framed under glass. Signed and dated 'Erich Heckel 20' in pencil lower right. Titled '- Die Brüder Karamasoff -' verso. - Very short tear in upper margin, otherwise in fine condition with fresh colours

The watercolour was created in the context of the lost painting "Die Brüder Karamasoff" (Hüneke 1921-4).
