A Komai damascened iron tiered box with a handle. Kyoto. Late 19th century

On the slightly barrel-vaulted lid and the wall of the lowest box, fans, and medallions, respectively, with landscape and floral and bird motifs on a ground of asanoha pattern and kiku-mon. On the wall of two cases 21 views of Kyoto, mostly depicting famous temples (list enclosed). Gilded interior. Carved wooden stand. Signed Dai Nihon Kyôto Komai sei.
