A Parisian Louis XVI chest of drawers

Rosewood, palisander and boxwood veneer on oak. Softwood back panel. Ormolu mountings. Brèche d'Alep marble top. Two-drawer cabinet with chamferred angles on slightly serpentine supports. The drawer fronts and sides decorated with striped vertical veneers. Stamped "J.B.FROMAGEAU" to the upper edge of the bottom drawer. Minor traces of earlier insect damage, in good restored condition with some additions. H 84.5, W 63, D 36 cm.
