A Berlin KPM porcelain fruit basket from a royal dessert service

Unidentified model, fired in one piece. Pierced basketweave design above a frieze of matte gilded foliage. The gilded base painted with a wreath of Autumn crocuses. Blue sceptre mark with pale red dash below, brown astrological sign of Mars, brown eagle mark, blue enamel owner's mark "K P.v.P." H 17, D 26.8 cm.
After 1823, model by Karl Friedrich Schinkel.

The fruit basket is thought to originate from a dessert service that was made for the wedding of Prince Carl of Prussia to Princess Marie of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach in 1827 and which later came into the possession of his son, Field Marshal General Prince Friedrich Karl of Prussia, after Carl's death in 1883.
