A Berlin KPM porcelain vase with decor in the style of Eduard Gaertner
Rare view of the Lonicer summer house by Andreas Schlüter in front of the Köpenicker Tor in Wassergasse

Model no. 1617, fired in two parts and screw-mounted. Finely painted with a panoramic view of Brandenburg Gate, Pariser Platz, the former Französisches Quarrée, and a view through the open garden gate of a Brandenburg mansion with stables on the left. Blue sceptre mark with KPM, red imperial orb mark, impressed marks. A small chip to one of the lower corners. H 25.7 cm.

Guido Hinterkeuser published photographs from 1894, thanks to which we were able to identify the building.
Andreas Schlüter actually built the "Villa suburbana" from 1702 for the client Wendelin Lonicer (1675 - 1719), but immediately after its completion in 1707, he asked to be allowed to take over the building himself. Schlüter lived in the house until he was called to St Petersburg in 1713.
