Portrait of a Man with Millstone Collar

Signed and dated upper right: Anno 1629.

This impressive portrait of a man with a millstone collar, dated 1620, is listed in the RKD picture archive as "Dutch School" (nos. 702911, 702994 and 702995). It was attributed to Cornelis de Vos as it shows Flemish stylistic influences, but it was probably painted by an artist who worked in the northern Netherlands.
