Oil on canvas, mounted onto firm painter's cardboard 50.5 x 40.2 cm, framed. Signed and dated Grosz 36 in red lower left as well as on reverse additionally signed, dated and inscribed GROSZ 1936 DOUGLASTON Oktober in ink brush, with title and year in black and partly pasted over by paper labels [...ch]eckered [...] 1936. With stamp "George Grosz Nachlass" [Estate George Grosz], therein numbered "115" handwritten in ink. - The reverse with numerous notes from different pens with number-combinations and among others twice "MARTIN" and "CHICAGO 38". With printed paper labels: "WALKER GALLERIES", therein filled out with name of artist, title and catalogue number, "FROM THE GALLERIES OF THE ASSOCIATED AMERICAN ARTISTS New York“, therein among others name of artist and title in typewriting, the partly torn off label "On Lo[an f]rom the Circulating Galler[y] of th[e] Dayton Art [Institute] No. 4961" as well as the label by the painting utensil firm "FREDRI[...] RED LION CANVAS PANELS". The frame with the branding stamp "MADE IN FRANCE". - With a minute loss of colour at lower right margin. With minor retouchings at right margin and in the area of the depicted bottle.
