A Berlin partially gilt and enamelled silver Royal Prussian presentation box.

Inscribed in blue enamel with crown prince William's signature to the lid, the corners incrusted with rubies, the push-button set with a sapphire. In the original blue velvet case applied with the German imperial crown in gilt and the original suede protective case inscribed with the maker's name and adress. Marks of the royal court jewellers Sy & Wagner, ca. 1900. 7 x 9.5 x 1.45 cm. Weight 122 g.

Friedrich Wilhelm Victor August Ernst of Prussia (Potsdam 1882 - Hechingen 1952), eldest son of the German emperor William II was crown prince of Prussia until the abolition of the monarchy in 1918. He became head of the house of Hohenzollern following his father's death in 1941.
The fineness stamp "937" on the case stands for the high silver content of 937/1000. This new imperial hallmark with a half moon, crown and the silver content in parts to a thousand was introduced during the reign of Emperor William II and is still in use to the present day.
