A 17th century North Italian bronze figure of a striding lion

Cast in the round and chased, with presumably original patina.. A finely cast bronze figurine made by a follower of Giambologna, naturalistically capturing the anatomy and movement of the animal's gait.
Slight wear to the patina, a small crack to the left back paw. Mounted on a moulded plinth (presumably of the period). Height 7.5 cm (without plinth).
