A 13th century processional cross, presumably French

Embossed and engraved bronze and brass, with remains of gilding, set with coloured stones. The bronze Corpus Christi is nailed to a brass cross with gem set trefoil terminals. Christ's head is backed by a square at the join of the two cross-beams. The edges of the cross and the terminals are decorated with bands of simple engraved ornament and floral motifs. A figure of Christ blessing decorates the centre of the reverse.
Six drilled holes to the horizontal beam. Some wear. Height 61.5 cm, width 30.5 cm.
