A German parcel gilt silver-mounted ivory jug "Amor vincit omnia"

Oval foot and corresponding lid with acanthus scrolls, the curved handle with flowerheads and anthemion terminals. The ivory corpus carved with a continuous depiction of the triumph of Cupid. A small vertical crack to the ivory, minor wear throughout. H 31 cm.
The ivory presumably 17th C., the mountings German, mid-19th C.
