A large German silver-mounted ivory tankard with a bacchanalia scene

Rounded triangular foot with chased mascarons between oval ivory plaques with amoretti at play. The tall cylindrical corpus supported by a model of a crouching faun forming the shaft and richly carved with bacchanalia scenes. The corresponding lid crowned by a carved ivory model of a satyr with a boy. H 86 cm.
