A magnificent one-handled mortar with male heads

Golden brown cast bronze with dark brown patina. Cylindrical form on a slightly flaring base with four paw feet beneath four bearded male mascarons and pointed ribs. With protruding moulded rim. A repaired crack to the base. H 22.5, D 19.6 cm. Weight c. 6 kg.
Attributed to Nuremberg, 15th century.
