A Meissen porcelain slop bowl with a landscape in iron red

With a finely painted landscape above a border of iron red bands and purple tendrils. The well painted with a castle in a landscape within an identical border. Enamel crossed swords mark, dreher's mark II for Johann Gottlieb Geithner in the basal ring. With a reattached breakage, the basal ring slightly chipped. H 8.5, D 7.2 cm.
Circa 1730, the decor attributed to George Heintze.

Provenance

Former princely Thurn and Taxis collection.
Acquired from Sotheby´s London on 16th October 1993, lot 1919.
