A Meissen porcelain coffee pot with a merchant navy scene

Rounded vessel with gilt spout and S-shaped handle. Painted with two large purple lustre cartouches containing exceptionally finely painted scenes showing merchants and ruins in a landscape. With scattered indianische blumen. Blue crossed swords mark with c (?), 33 in gold. The basal ring and tip of the spout restored. H 15.7 cm. Lid missing.
Circa 1740, the decor attributed to Christian Friedrich Herold.
