A late 13th century French bronze Corpus Christi

Engraved bronze with extensive remains of former gilding. Christ is depicted with upraised arms, legs parallel, feet crossed beneath a single nail and His head leaning slightly to one side. The markedly simple depiction of the nude body is what lends this figure its expressive quality.
The left hand partially lost. Abrasions. Height 14.5 cm. Width of arms 11 cm.
