An Italian silver Corpus Christi, first half 14th century

Engraved cast silver. A depiction of Christ crucified with arms upraised and slightly angled, feet crossed over and held by a single nail and head leaning to one side in death. The legs, partially concealed by the voluminous and detailed drapery of the perizonium, are turned expressively outwards.
Drilled holes to the hands and feet. Very minor abrasions. Height 13.2 cm. Width of arms 8.5 cm.
