A Meissen porcelain cup and saucer with mythological scenes

Finely painted with depictions of Cephalus slain by the arrow of Prokris and Narcissus observing his own reflection. Blue crossed swords mark with star, purple 4, gold v. A ground down chip to the rim of the saucer. H of cup 6.3, D of saucer 13.3 cm.

This cup is based on the coloured engraving "Procris Killed by an Arrow, which Cephalus darted through the Thicket" from 1775 by William Walker after Charles Monnet.
